Materials ALVA

The Materials Alliances for Learning and Vision for Underrepresented Americans program (Materials ALVA) is a partnership with the Minority Scholars Engineering Program (MSEP) at the UW College of Engineering. This program is focused on underrepresented and underserved UW students during their transfer summer. Students participate in lab research combined with a rigorous math and chemistry enhancement designed to enhance success and retention.

• Core math / science preparation

Students apply for the Materials ALVA program through the MSEP ALVA website.

Students who have completed the MEM·C ALVA summer are eligible to apply for Undergraduate Research Assistance during the academic year.
