Creating and studying a portfolio of defect-engineered spin-photonic nanostructures to inform, expand, and inspirefuture technological capabilities
IRG-1 Unifying Core Objectives:
(1) Design and develop new nanoscale materials exhibiting novel manifestations of coupled spin and optical properties.
(2) Use-inspired basic research that will advance the characterization, modeling, and understanding of geometric and electronic structure/function relationships in nanoscale spin-photonic materials.
(3) Impact current, emerging, and future technologies by developing materials with unprecedented properties that define new capabilities and opportunities.
